Kingdom Fit Week 2 : Getting Ready and Staying Ready [Day 8]
Week 1 Recap
Is there anything that has stood out to you from this past week? Anything that you learned from your faith and fitness journey thru walking the T.R.A.I.L?
Get Ready And Stay Ready
Last week we defined what it means to be fit in various areas of our lives (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, etc.). We also went over the definition of Kingdom Fit which is to not only become ready but to stay ready for God’s purpose for our lives. So the question we must now answer is how do we “get ready” and “stay ready”? The bible says the following about planning and getting ready for a task:
Proverbs 21:5 – The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.
Proverbs 16:3 – Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:9 – The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
1. How do you approach “getting ready”? What’s your process for getting ready for a task?
2. What is your approach for “staying ready” for a task? How do these two approaches differ?
When we think of getting ready for our God-given purpose, we think of planning all the steps and the people involved. But when we think of staying ready, it requires more awareness of our circumstance. To stay ready, we must prepare for obstacles and other things that will hinder our progress. We must also consider what to do when we’re confronted with those obstacles.
